Your favorite LucasArts adventure game...

Got this idea from the mention of Grim Fandango in the Psychonauts thread.

I grew up on these games, which all used modified versions of the SCUMM engine.

These games were known for their great graphics, story, and challenge. a lot of them were hilarious too.

My favorites would have to be:

The Secret of Monkey Island (1-4)
Full Throttle (can't tell you how many times I've played through it).

Dark horse candidate would be "The Dig." It should have been a movie and almost was.

I've never really played through any adventure games of any sort, and on top of that, I find that all of the ones I've tried are a complete bore. Everyone else loves them, but I need more violence and mayhem.

full throttle was fun, the ending was a bit bogus since you had to *guess* that you could get something you couldnt see from off screen to save yourself|

Yeah, not a fan of adventure games either. At least none that were made in or after the 90s.

Had it on Mac too, but on floppy, not CD so there were no voice overs.

That game was pretty epic in scope considering when it was made, with the 3 branching paths and stuff.

Perhaps content for another thread - but in the classic adventure battle, who do you guys pick - LucasArts or Sierra?

I think it's a fucking tough call.

Who made Sam & Max?

I loved Monkey Island. 1 and 2 are absolute classics and comedy gold!

Oh man that is indeed a tough one to call. Out of the all the "Quests" they made I only ever like the Space Quest series. But then again we have the wonderful Larry series, Phantasmagoria 1 & 2, Gabriel Knight 1 & 2 (not a fan of the latter sequels).

Too tough to call. There were many many great adventure games released in the good old times. Discworld comes to mind. Now THAT was an awesome game.
