Monkey Dancer 2 Mixers

Hello,

I'm planning to buy TTs this summer and get started in mixing, something that seems enjoyable to me although I haven't gotten to really do it yet!

With TTs, there isn't much research to be done, ofcourse everyone says Technics are the best!!...although, I donj't think I can afford a pair of Technics, anything that is cheaper but still good?

I was wondering in what to look for in a mixer though!? and what are good kinds out there, keeping in mind that I will be just starting out.

I can't put an exact dollar figure on how much I can spend, I work full-time now, but I still don't wanna blow all my money away on equipment to start out with....

thats the thing, I don't know exactly what would be considered alright, that can last me for sometime......i have heard that 3 channel mixers are good to start off with? everywhere I've looked around people are complementing the Vestax-PCV 275

If you don't want to dish out the big bucks for the Vestax, i'd recommend the Numark 3002x. The cross fader is a little loose on it, but it does have LED indicators for all channels, which is a big plus in my book. I got this for 180 shipped. I think the Vestax will run you about 350-400 shipped. So it's all up to you how much you want to spend.

I appreciate your recommendation....

Though, I'm still having a problem, can't decide to buy something without doing whats good and whats bad.......what I'm trying to say here is, what should I be looking for in a mixer? (I know it might sound like a stupid question but I don't know how to phrase it)

always check the faders, they have to be long and heavy, if you want to mix trance, techno or music like that. check how many buttons there are on a mixer, and decide if you gonna use them or not (like bass punch or things like that).
ask yourself what do you want that's on a mixer, how many channels, equalizer etc. Just buy a known mixer, like a numark, gemini or vestax or whatever. if your mixer goes stuck, it will be easier repaired because they can get parts faster.
and just ask someone, who knows a lot about mixers (not the salesman), to come with you when you buy your mixer
