So what exactly is going on in montreal next week. I can't find a hotel for the life of me. Priceline auctions wouldn't even take my offer of $300/night for a downtown Hotel? I have to be there for work from Monday night through Friday, my best option at this point (without staying in a shithole) is staying out by the airport. Nice new aloft hotel in Dorval.
What are my options for commuting, I don't understand the AMT schedule on it's website (both odd, and also in french).
Any suggestions folks? I'm working at the Sun Life building downtown.
thanks.

Punching in Sept 15/16 to 19 will yield nothing on any of those sites, hotel.ca expedia.ca priceline ... nothing. The hotels.ca has is the Clarion Suites, which on tripadvisor is terrible.
Dorval appears to be my only option.

A hotel is a hotel....
I'm 99% sure you can find something decent in Downtown Montreal.
If you really cant find anything, and need to stay in Dorval, be warned that public transportation to downtown area is crap, really crap, really really crap, the metro does not get to the airport, and buses are horrible.
There is a shuttle (not public transportation though) that takes you from the airport directly to Station Centrale (central bus station) which is connected to Metro Berri-Uqam, which is the main metro hub in Montreal.

AMT is bilingual, but not the right site for you.
I just found Crystal at 300$ a night, about two blocks off the sunlife at http://hotels.ca/ look also at www.kayak.com for good deals.
Thanks for the Kayak recommendation. Have my fingers crossed on a non-confirmed room at the Marriot for $150/night. We'll see, but there were other options if that falls through.

you can't go wrong with a 4 stars downtown, most 3 stars are pretty good too (but if the employers pays up, why not go for the best)

Most are decent, but Priceline has the holiday inn in chinatown as a 3-star and I won't stay there, lol. 3-stars are 'usually' ok, but not always.

the holiday inn chinatown is not luxury, but it is clean and has a pretty great location. It is one of the preferred hotels for TO people during bal en blanc. Try on the south shore...there is a hotel in longueil that used to be a marriot (don't know know) right next to the subway. The executive suites there are pretty nice and cheaper than in town.
