I have the Polar on my keyboard stand, so it's convenient for me to just walk over there and start Atomizing. Yeah, I can just use my MIDI keyboard, but then I can't change any of the distortion parameters (unless it was right in front of me). |
With a good midi keyboard controller you can have all the control a polar gives you.. and more. I've got a novation remote sl 25 connected to the ti desktop and it's set up to control it. I can program 90% of the synth without even touching the Ti, not to mention playing it live. Even have a X-Y pad, a joystick and all the parameters displayed on the novation LCD's.
Plus, I use the keyboard as a next gen VST controller in the studio.
The Polar is a sexy bit of kit, no denying it, but IMO it has no real practical benefits over a ti desktop + midi controller combo. And ofc, the desktop version is quite a bit cheaper..
