Monitors for DJ set up

I am looking for a new set of speakers for my dj-set up. The speakers i have arent enough anymore and i am looking for a new pair of monitors.
I dont have alot of money but something around 400 usd or so. What are some good Monitors that are reasonably priced but still good for a bedroom set-up. Thanks

You forgot to mention EVENT monitors which sound way better than all of those (other than mackies, but you need to spend wayyy more than 400 for nice mackies)

I recommend that you head to a store and try a couple out of monitors out if possible, as it's a very subjective topic.

Behringer Truths are deceptively good for the money and the KRK Rokit series are also known as being good bang for your buck. Haven't heard the Event monitors myself so can't comment on those.

Thanks for all of your comments guys.
Highly Appreciated

I think i am going to pick up a pair of the KRK 8's. They seem like the best deal for what price range im trying to go for.

How about the new Mackie actives that are about $500 for a pair?

I have never heard the Mackie's.
How do they compare to the KRK's?

I just got the Behringer Truth's. I like them a lot. They sound pretty good and really crank up.

does anyone have any experience on the ESI nEar monitors? i'm kinda looking at them atm.

i'd also like to know if someone has some experience on wall mounts for monitors. i'd want to get some decent monitors, that aren't too expensive and don't look like shit that i can mount to my wall.

"Step away from the monitors."

IMO, they are not worth the wood (chipboard) they're made from. They're actually a cheap chinese factory brand that have been rebadged in at least three different forms over the last 10 years, including early M-audio monitors, before they ditched them and started making the BX range.

They're cheap and nasty, only slightly better than PC speakers - I would definately go for Behringer truth 2031a Actives for only a little bit more money. The only problem is that they are quite large and you're going to need some really heavy duty wall mounts to get them babies up there and solid.

If you want smaller monitors, then go for something like the KRK's or Tapco's.

the Tapco's are OK but don;t be fooled in to thinking you're getting quality anywhere near the Mackie HR824's.

thanks for the tip. i guess my top choice will be EVENT TR6 now. i won't buy any behringer stuff for my dj set up, no matter how good it is.

does anyone have the EVENT TR6's? i'd like to hear more about them and see some pics if possible.
