I'd buy music to support the artists if there was a pay service worth a damn, most of the sources out there today, beatport etc, come close but not close enough. You can still get everything on there from slsk and a lot more, so why bother?
It does trouble me that I get more from a free service than I can from a pay service and as a result the artist suffers. Since I really only listen to electronic music, I need a source that has practically everything, at high speed. Remember audiogalaxy in its prime? Even the most obscure piece of music could be found there and delivered at high speed, the most unknown artist when searched would appear with virtually everything they have done. Should a day come where paid services have the depth of offering stuff thats less popular, I would pay without hesitation. It's ironic that such a service still does not exist til this day.
