How do I ID a file so that on the cdj, it corresponds via the text as follows:
ARTIST - TRACK - (KEY)
If someone could also describe the text button process on the cdj800 the fact that you can "scroll" through a track while it is playing and see any info you may wish to include like :
are you burning the tracks on the cd as MP3's or as an audio cd?
edit: the CDJ's have 3 lines of text that it could hold. by default it is the song title, artist, and album name. if you are burning as mp3's, then go on google and find an id3 tag editor (or you could go manually right clicking each tune and renaming it yourself.
if you burn as an audio cd, you need burning software that supports CD Text burning. Nero can do the job, or if you want a free program, look for Burrrn.

Yeah, was going to rename by right click etc, but I find that sometimes when I'm mixing, I forget the key of the track that is playing (doh) so was wanting to tap the text button and get the key right away.
just put the artist and track title in one line, and where you would normally have the artist's name you could put the key there or something like that.

Yeah, probably going to put it as key/artist/title now that I think about it and burn 2 copys of cd for reference as well.
