I can't wait any longer....I have to tell you this - PvD fans - look inside please!!!
Right, some of you won't belive what I'm about to tell you, others will - I don't care cos the memories are mine and they'll be with me forever.
Some of you may know that in the last 2.5 years I have seen PvD spin MANY times, more than 30 times now and I've loved EVERY single set.
This weekend I decided to make a special trip to see him play @ Red Box in Dublin - I flew there - I've not flown for 15 years, so this was a novelty in itself.
Anyway, even if I do say so myself PvD played an AWESOME set - really really good. Anyone else there??
At 3am the club closed, and our flight back to London was not until 7:55am, so after throwing a small present to PvD (who was about 20 feet up in the DJ box) we left for the airport, and curled up on a couple of seats and fell asleep........ yawn!
After about two hours I was awoken by a farmilier voice...... 'what are you two doing here' said the voice. I opened my eyes to see someone bending down to wake me up......PvD! He'd just walked past and seen me asleep and woken me up!! Markus (who I'd never met) was also with him - and proved to be every bit as pleasant as Paul. We sat and talked for 10 minutes about music (Condor II and Bismark - jploveparade take note!!), clubs and the fact that flights don't go from Dublin to Germany directly!! It was soooooo cool.
I'm still on a high. It's not the first time I've met Paul, but certainly the best time I've spent with him - a charming, sweet, friendly and genuine person, always with a smile.
Fox - this is what I have been trying to tell you for the last 3 days.
As usual I spent the next three days thinking 'why didn't I ask him this, or that.....' But remember, I was a little bemused by the whole situation, I had just been awoken by an unexpected person!!!
I though I would share this with you fellow TAs!!
