// FRANCO FABI

Nothing can stop the ambition that is Franco Fabi. The Montreal deck wizard has managed to carve out an impressive position within the national and international clubbing community, combining savvy, drive and musical prowess.

This Montreal resident completed his first full-length studio album, Reflection Session, in 2006 in collaboration with the heavy hitting vocal talents of Lisa Pure and Robert Owens and, his first mixed CD compilation was released in January 2007.

Franco got his start in the ultra competitive Montreal scene and soon his Friday night residency at the notorious Ilume club earned him a faithful following. This was the beginning of his rise to global fame.

In 2006, it was Franco’s magical set at the annual event ‘Celebration’ that truly jump started his career. It will be a long time before his 4 hour set, witnessed by 7000 strong, will be forgotten.

Fabi’s infectious blend of top-shelf, electro-laced, progressive, throbbing club vibes was too strong to be limited to Montreal alone and, as a result, Franco was invited to share the booth with a host of DJ elite. Icons such as Roger Sanchez, Tiesto, Danny Tenaglia, Steve Lawler, Deep Dish (2006 Canadian Tour), Paul Oakenfold and Chus & Ceballos are some of the many legends he has played alongside.

Having already graced the decks in France, Spain, Lebanon (B018), Italy, Las Vegas (Ice), Miami (Mansion & Global Gathering), L.A. (Avalon & Spundae) to tremendous acclaim, it is no mystery how he managed to secure residencies in Poland (Varsovie), Morocco (Marrakech), Tunisia, and London England in clubs like the world famous Pacha.

With his sights set on converting you, look to the decks near you to give in to Franco’s infectious sounds, and like the rest...you will not be disappointed.

// EDGAR VELAZQUEZ (Mexico)

Surrounded by a family of DJs, Edgar Velazquez along with his brothers, share good musical taste, great talent, and have a broad knowledge of excellent music.

During his start as DJ Edgar, he appeared at various private events which were significant in his formation as a DJ, taking a foray into different genres which would eventually allow him to develop his own style.

In 1992, he obtained his first four year residency at Discoteca Allegro, later at El Magazine, and subsequently kept busy by spinning at various locations within Mexico City as well as throughout Mexico; most notably at El Cerebro (south), El Paradise, and El Numerito.

In mid-1997, he shared turntables with DJ Alberto Flores at the club La Academia, where his love for house music was well received and he had his first experience playing for a circuit audience, which was a vital key in his development as a DJ.

In June of 1998, Edgar met up with his brother Oscar Velazquez at club Penélope, which was known for its impressive audio and lighting. Although its doors closed in December of that same year, it gave him the opportunity to spin at the bar La Ramona in 1999.

In 2000, Edgar and his brother, Oscar Velazquez, formed part of “Blush”, which was a very successful circuit nightclub in Mexico City and it was very popular in its time.

During that same year, Edgar and his brother started to forge a path towards what they would become: symbols of what modern Mexican DJs are.

At the same time that his name was being recognized, he was hired for various events such as private parties and afterhours. He also performed at the fashion shows of some of the most prominent Mexican designers, among of which included Sara Bustani, Hector Terrones, and Ricardo Seco.

As 2001 approached, the experience Edgar had acquired throughout the years led up to the formation of the perfect formula. He became the leading resident DJ at club Living, which is a very successful high quality nightclub.

In early 2005, club Living changed locations to one of the most important areas in Mexico City, making it one of the best clubs in the country and also the most important gay nightclub; recently, it has been considered one of the best in Latin America. Each weekend, as the leading resident DJ, Edgar engulfs the audience with a fresh and original style charged with impressive energy. Living has recently been the stage for some of the best DJs in the world; some of which include: Offer Nissim Peter Rauhofer, Tracy Young, Rosabel, Peter Presta, Chris Cox, Manny Lehman, DJ Scape, Hector Fonseca, and many more.

Aside from being a resident at club Living, Edgar also performs at Vieu Carré in Verazcruz, Parking in Monterrey, Karamba in Cancun, Angeluz in Merida, Agora in Puebla, Heaven in Queretaro, Albatros in Ciudad Juarez, just to name a few. With all of these residencies and performances across Mexico, Edgar has placed himself among the favorite and most recognized DJs in the country.

In late 2004, stemming from his vision and his love for his fans, Edgar founded Rush Hours, the first circuit oriented afterhours in the country and currently the best in the capital, which is the perfect place to continue partying every Sunday. Rush Hours has had the honor of hosting renowned international DJs such as Chris Cox, William Umana, Hector Fonseca, Will Beats, and many more. Attendees of more than 800 have been present and not just from the gay community. That is why Rush Hours has become known as: “THE AFTER OF AFTERS”.

With his style, Edgar has created a musical concept that is currently heard in circuit nightclubs all across Mexico, which is why he is recognized by such a demanding crowd.

Over time, Edgar has demonstrated that he can masterfully manage such diverse beats like vocal house, anthem house, tribal house, electro house, and of course, circuit house.

Every night that Edgar Velazquez mixes, his productions are live. Those who are present have the privilege of taking home with them a memory; something that will be different each time.

Edgar Velazquez is without a doubt, one of the most outstanding club DJs of our time. The way he delivers himself to his audience is dynamic; not only through his music, but also with his direct interaction with fans. He was voted BEST CLUB DJ in 2006 by the prestigious magazine “DJ CONCEPT” which specializes in electronic music; he received the award in February of 2007.

Edgar Velazquez is not only a DJ, but a concept.
