A Keffiyeh is a traditional headdress for arab men but can also be worn around the neck from time to time.
I wear it all the time and have seen others do the same, mainly for Palestinian solidarity plus to keep my neck warm in the winter. But now everyone wears it. Is it a new trend or something? Sorry, I never stay up to date with fashion; I'm just curious.

naaa It's just Emo kids trying to look different and cool...
Palestinian's/Arab's wore it for a reason back in the days and it just became a style there after...
Fashion can be based and influenced by many things, cultures and trends. It's one big circle that keeps evolving. Old navy tried to bring back the tunic a few years ago. The 80's seem to have some sort of resilience since its days, and tapered jeans seem to be loved by the general public lately.
If you want to see awe inspiring fashion design based on culture, then check out a John Galliano fashion show. Now that is an experience. Although it is mostly costume wear, some of the pieces are incredible. http://men.style.com/fashion/collec...ete/thumb/JGMEN

I wasn't aware that a piece of clothing could label you as "homo".

Most of the people (NON ARAB) who wear these are these girls who seem to be really into fashion ... but nothing else. Ive asked many of the wearers at my university if they even know what Palastine was, none of the 9 or 10 we had asked knew...

Back in 81 when I was in University in Wales I had a red and white Keffiyeh it was pretty much standard dress for the average "trendy" student back then

Im all for it being worn, looks sick, but i would hope people would just at least know where its from, its the symbol and pride of an entire nation. And just not any nation, quite a special one in our day and age.

You don't have to be a homo. Galliano fashions are known to a great performance. Not only is it incredibly detailed from the lights, runway, experience to the clothing. A lot of the clothing is costume and custom. But there are pieces that a wearable day to day. A lot of the pieces are just that, pieces to add to a clothing collection.
It's refined fashion taste in terms of clothing and style. You obviously haven't been exposed to it, which why I can only imagine you may be familiar with something more common, such as Armani, Dolce+Gabbana or even G-Star.
Apply the same mentality to house music. Noise Noise, bang bang, zip zip. Seems like repetitive music to someone who doesn't understand it. But it's rhythm and music to the others that do.
