You know what really grinds my gears?
When people stay on AIM for fucking 2, 3 days straight and leave their status as away. Why the fuck do you people do that? What happened to signing on when you wanted to chat and signing off when you didn't, or couldn't?

meh. i leave mine on 24/7 and i think right now i'm away, i rarely, if ever change my status
once people started being away when they were actually they so they could have away messages up, i stopped caring about status
