Do you mean an electric guitar? If so, just get a gigantic old tube head & a speaker that can't be hurt by it. Won't really matter what guitar you play then or how long you've been playing.

Honestly, any guitar would do.
Right now I have a 60th anniversary Fender strat sunburst color but the two elec guitars I had before that was a cheap Washburn and some other Fender strat copy which was white.

Buy something more expensive rather than cheap and nasty. You'll be looking at paying at least $800 for a decent guitar and amp IMO.
Good brands are Ibanez and ESP for beginners wanting Humbuckers. But if you want a strat, buy a second hand american strat.
That would be really cool to see someone play on stage as a gimmicky thing in-between songs (as an intro, for example).

Don't start with a cheap one because it won't stay in tune and it'll be quite frustrating.
