Dutch Force - Deadline (Freesoup's Tribute Remix)

I started this idea a while back but haven't really touched it for sometime. I've got a gig coming up which I'd like to play it at so started work on it again tonight, once again its changed for the better I think but I'd like to see what you guys reckon. Be gentle!

I know that this is a remix of a classic track and to be honest I'm mostly against this sort of thing but I felt if I made it different enough to the original it might be ok.

Sorry about the clipping, I don't know why its happening at the moment.

i can hear the clipping on the swoosh effect i would look at the eq on that, maybe its too high, but on with the tune

Heavy bass intro , got a bit of ear fatigue from that lol

further on , nice sounding synth for the main lead

Not being funny , but a sub is going to put a few overtime hours in for this tune

and as much as a good tune it is , 6 mins for a sniff of a hands up moment maybe too long , for me anyways.

but i would play it , see how it goes and go from there.

This isn't the finished article so you know, I'd never play this version in a club, it still needs a lot more work, I was after some feedback with regards to the idea of it, I'm aware I can probably shift 2 mins off this version but its late and I've had to switch my monitors off.

Cheers for listening anyways and I'll bare what you've said in mind.

i think the idea is fine , that main synth is pretty impressive
but i would bring in that good clear bit near the end closer and would include a more defined kick (to keep the crowd happylol)

I'm gonna shift the break forward a bit and add a few more effects and percussion pieces so it doesn't sound like its under a constant lowpass filter, it is a bit muffled at the moment

I do have a piano line to add too but will have to work on how to bring that in without it sounding crap, possible reverse reverb.

I will update tomorrow! For now film & bed

I have updated the sample

Spent most of today on it as I had to start again, for some reason reason was flicking between 120bpm and 124 and causing the clipping, I couldn't fix it and after an hour of trying just started the project from scratch after writing down parameters, saving midi files and presets!

Anyway - Let me know your thoughts, its a lot less low pass based now but still quite dark which was the intention, sort of airwave/m.i.k.e I suppose.

Cheers

Stu

much better.

the mix is more interesting this time and more comfortable to the ear

im still hearing clipping but a hell of a lot less than before and its also rearing its head in my productions , so if you can get rid let us know

and as previously stated , this could be a good set starter

I really like the sounds in this track. I would like to hear an increase in tempo by a few BPM. think it would add to the track imo.

hey, i just took a listen and i sounds as if you have a really good melody going there. I woulden't touch that. The only things that are lacking is effects/dynamics on the synths and more percussion.

I'm good mate. I will come and see you play one of these days in Leeds. I keep seeing your name on posters. When are you next playing in Leeds?
