just ain't cuttin it. I'll listen to a track and think wow this song sucks. Then I listen on my headphones and realize another one bites the crappy sony speaks./ the track is good.

Right now I don't know if I will get back to making tracks but for sure have decks and a mixer I like to play at home.

I can afford maybe $300. Should I try to get monitors or are there commercial speakers out there that sound good? I like bass but don't need a whole shit load of it I have downstairs neighbors.

If you're looking towards monitors, you can definitely find used pair of monitors. You're budget is pretty low for though.
