I just got back from MM, i left at the end of the judge jules set because my girlfriend got real hurt while on the railing. (pushing)

JOC - My 1st time seeing him perform live.. HANDS DOWN the most amazing set I've seen in a LONG time (AMAZING SET) (Probably best of the night)

Marcus Shultz - Brilliant work, played some amazing tracks, with both melodic tunes and hard progressive energy songs

Judge Jules - The Judge SIMPLY wont budge .. another AMAZING set by Jules( most people will probably tell you he had the best set) but IMO JOC took it... (he played 2 songs that Marcus played, but the crowd didnt mind at all) .. also, i know jules has a tendency to lower and raise the volume level during the buildup of a track, but i could have swore his entire set just stopped for a second TWICE (maybe it was just me)

The bad .... More under aged kids(i saw some boy who said he was 15) .. more fake electronica fans.. more e-puddles and for the first time in my life since going to many massive .. i saw a HUGE fight.. totally unnecessary and childish. They kept going at each other too, didnt stop)

Some girl started to record the fight on her digital camera .. i told her that she was doing something really stupid if she was planning on putting it on youtube because this is NOT what massves are all about.

The DJ's were ASTONISHINGLY amazing.. the crowd wasn't that great ..

By the way .. YES i left b4 PVD came on .. not because of what happened to my gf, but because i've given the guy 3 chances so far and hes let me down all 3 times

Was suppsed to see markus play at the armani exchange in santa monica but didn't happen....so off to monster massivme.

After some chaos getting in, got in right when markus got on.
we wanted to see john o real bad but just didn't happen.

Markus rocked of course. Glad he played more his typical style and didn't bring it hard like he did in 2006 (at an earlier timeslot).

Jules brought it, but I recall about _four_ tracks IN HIS FIRST HOUR that Markus played. Though I wasn't directly in the main room so the sound was a little muffled, but everyone around was realizing it. Repeats are expected at massives, but it was a bit funny just how much. No real compaints. Most banging (in good form) set I have heard from jules on awhile, juist so similar to markus'.

At 130 or so we made our way to lawler who came on at 2 and he was rockin too. Even michelle (my michelle) was lovin him. thought about seeing pvd before we headed out but after hearing lawler throw done some amazing stuff we didn't want our mood to be tarnished by pvd (since he's been whack for awhile)...so we left close to 3:30 to beat the rush....saw john beaver on the way out.

Avoiding the main crowd and sticking with peeps we knew made it a super fun night overall.

BTW anyone got a clue on how long it took to get in at point? The line was lllllllOoooonnnnngggggg for general admin when we should up a tad before ten. Had to be thousands and thousands of peeps waiting in line. Insanity.

My big complaint is simply thge sound. It was poor inside. And there should be better sound for VIP....espec since VIP at the big events up in sf have their own sound setup these days so you aren"t left with muffled bass and echos from the main speak facing the other direction. The sound quality of the house stage outside destroyed the main arena...also nice weather outside. I think lI sweated 10lb off inside. Then again I thinlk markus lost 30lb. He was soaked..like he just got pushed into a pool. Heh.

With the size of the event and all and the size of the crowd it's attracting these days wish some crazy production was done$$just a wish. Come on bring some lasers!!!! Just a wish no real complaining.

While the laser setup is usually better over there because the safety laws when using lasers in the US are much more strict, you can use lasers here. Lovefest afterparty had several in the mainroom.

Judge Jules had the worst set by far out of the four headliners. Swedish Egil was boring but that was what I expected out of him. You could tell that JJ just gave up on some transitions and I would say he only had about 2-3 tracks that he mixed cleanly. JOC on the other hand was fucking amazing. He had the set of the night by far. Should have headlined for sure. I enjoyed PVD and Markus also.

I hated it soo much..

So i got my wristband from will call and while i was putting it on, the plastic latch snapped. I wait in line and see if they can just get me a wristband replacement, but the fucking guy takes my wristband and confiscates it. He was telling me that they would confiscate it while im inside. Im pissed because my friend bought me the VIP tix and i had to wait for him to get his receipt for groovetix. After finally getting the guys attention he lets me in to get a replacement. I go and talk to a lone yellow shirt guy and luckily he was a higher rank or something. He looked PISSED that that guy took my wristband. After he got it back, he let me and my friend bypass both lines, and i got to bring my backpack in.

I got in at 11:30 and i missed most of angello/ingrosso's set. I heard Jeri Lee was gogoing at the time but i guess i missed her. I went straight to VIP and smuggled 4 waters and a cup of ice in my bag. People here are ridiculously zombified. They walk and push through the crowd like youre not there. Was able to push my way into main arena to see markus and he was totally rocking the house. I didnt even bother going to the mosh pit down below.

Judge jules came on and he was banging really hard. After about an hour i got tired of trance and move to go see felix and pete tong. I guess they switched their times?.. because felix was announced on at 1. It was a mistake to go though.. i really wanted to go see lawler open and the way through was super packed/they closed off the arena. Lawler impressed me the whole way through. My friends wanted to see PVD so i had to tag along with them and boy it was a mistake. It was sleep enducingly awful. He needs to stop playing for an angel.

MM started off as the shittiest time of my life, but it ended alright.

and WTF is this charging 25 bucks for parking, apparently my friends were charged 60 for parking. That shit needs to come with a little sucky sucky if it costs that much.
