Starcraft 2 looks amazing in action. I can't say I'm too excited of possibly paying 150 dollars to play through the series. Kind of a cheap move to those who don't give two shits about the fucking campaign, and just want to play the multiplayer.

Multiplayer still gets upgrades on the same level that brood war did, the only difference is that now there's two expansions instead of one, and they each have more content. I prefer it this way actually. If they didn't do that, then after SC2 comes out, it would be another ten years or so before we see another starcraft game, now at least we get new stuff up to 2011 or so. Makes sense, if they're going to spend so many years designing an engine like that, they should spend a little more time exploiting it. Supposedly they're doing the same with D3. Yes, but then who still plays starcraft without brood war, or diablo 2 without LOD? It doesn't split the player base in three, it just gradually transitions them from one to the other.

Besides, if you get the first one, and after over a year you still enjoy it enough to be playing it regularly in multiplayer, then what possible reason would you have for not getting the expansion?
