Hi All

Can some of you please give me an idea of costs of DJ equipment in Vancouver in Canadian Dollars. Turntables and mixers please. Or any Canadian DJ websites that have equipment.

SL1200's and any of Numark, Denon, Gemini.

Any mixers, but I'm not looking for anything too highend.

I'm trying to work out how much cash I end for equipement and whether I can afford it.

1200s are 750.
mixers vary, I am selling mine for 250.

wow 750? that's pretty good... your looking at around 700-800 for a pair of mid level tables... and about 300$ for a decent mixer.

don't forget the vinyl tho, that's the killer

an example of my setup was 880$ for 2 gemini pt-2100's, 330$ for a numark 2002x, and anywhere from 11.99-16.99 for your choons. (this was last march 2001)

Don't forget speakers and an amp. You can use home ones if you just goin home dj for a while.

hmm, thanks for the pricing guys. So I'm looking at just over 1000 CAD for 2 decks + mixer....

Are there any online dj stores specifically for Canada?

well doesn't matter to me, i can get them direct from technics hehehe

that's why i'm trying sell my decks.. if you want to try a good online store try audiolines.com i got stuff from there cheap and fast. they also marked the price down so that customs charged less... ended up still saving hundreds.

Only canadian outlet online i know of is djmr.com

so you are looking @ 1700 + taxes for your tables

I recommend the techs, Ive tried a few other TTs but the techs are by far the best. It is tottally worth the money and I would just save up rather than wasting it on anything else. Trust me, anybody who has techs must agree with me.

And I just bought a Djm 600 that is one sweet machine.

hmm, yep Jesten I know the Techs first and only argument well.
I've got a pair of Numark TT1520 at home here.

If you can mix on a lower end turntable, then you can easily mix on Technics. I'll probably get a mid - high end pair of TTs unless I get Technics at a really good price. I'd rather have the extra cash to upgrade the headphones and get some form of speaker system.

the thing is.. i can only get so many in a given amount of time.. I.E. a year or even more... i'm an employee at A&B so i can get a lot of equip at good $$$. catch is i can't order bulk or anything or i'd be fired.. because they would know i'm selling it or buying for others
