I'm not into traditional stuff, but i know some new-age, which is traditional with catchy synths i guess? Try the susual suspects, Amethystium, Mythos, Cusco, Deep Forest, Kitaro etc.

But for more organic stuff i remembered Vas, they were pretty good actually. But i'm not sure if thats the ethnic style you want(and they flirt with many, arabic/persian, byzantine etc.). Nevertheless check em out

I don't know any live performances of more original traditional stuff though.
