Compressor settings

Hay guyth!

I always used to use sidekick or the dbaudioware plugins for sidechaining. Now that Cubase 4 has proper sidechaining support, I've obviously began using the inbuilt compressor. However, I have had a lot of difficulty getting it to sound right. I have the following settings:

Threshold: as needed
Ratio: 8:1
Attack: 0.1
Hold: 0
Release: 61
Analysis: 50/50 peak/rms

Putting it on peak alone doesn't sound right, so I've added in a bit of RMS. Overall, it sounds like it isn't attacking fast enough. Eg, the gain reduction occurs too late. Any help?
