When I look it up online I get sent to a US site, and when I call it transfers me to a US number? You must be able to get it repaired in Canada I would think.
I remember when my PS2 broke, I just went to Sony's office off the 404 and they gave me a refurbished one for $100. Do they do that with the PS3?

Yeah, I've tried that but the automated system sends me to a US service center when I say PS3.
I think I might just drop in and see....
yeah there is a service department you can go to there. i brought my old sony camera there for service and they fixed it quick (it was ready the next day).
I've used Craigslist to fix my 360 (3rrod) - plus I got it modded through a link on cl. No problems - It's usually an engineering student who is looking for extra $$$

what u should repair is the fact that u bought a PS3!!!!
the Wii is for kids and Xbox 360, the lifeline is almost over. The new one with BluRay will be coming out soon. A DVD can only hold so much data, 90% of the games now will almost an entire DVD.

Dammit I need to save up for a ps3 and 360 so i can learn to mod them. I had a pretty good business modding and fixing the original xbox and even the ps2.
cammaxwell what is your problem? If it's hard drive issue, I'm sure I could help you with it.

Well, i don't know exactly....
The system works, it turns on and will play CD's and media files. But when I go to play a game from the the PS3 menu screen, the screen will just go black? No game will start, no buttons work, and the system won't even reset. I have to turn the whole thing off, I guess its freezing up.
Yeah, I did all that. Reset factory settings, upgraded to the latest firmware, and everything else I could think of...
Ok, so I just came back from Sony and they no longer repair PS3's there. She gave me the US number to call and said you have to call them but that there is a local repair facility.
I called and got someone right away on the phone. He had never heard of any such problems so it has to be sent in. It will cost $169 to repair and they pay for shipping. Will take 3-4 business days and most likey they will just ship a refurbished model. Pretty easy and painless really....
