How important is cartridge quality if one uses TS/Serato/Torq?
? it wouldn't matter since output is digital right? thinking about getting Serato but my orto concorde's are.. misplaced.

Yes output level and tracking are most important for DVS use since it is only reading time code sound quality is not important.

the shure m-447's are suggested for use with serato because they have both high output and great tracking ability (which are the only two important factors for dvs use). They are also pretty cheap ( ) so there is really no point in opting for a more expensive catridge (especially when sound quality doesn't matter with dvs use).

Well, if you're going to play regular vinyl here and there, you still want good carts

i know when serato first came out having good carts was important, but now the software is less dependent on a 100% clear singnal and compensates

with only 1.5 grams of suggested tracking, my hand hitting the platter causes the needle to jump to much...otherwise, if you have a softer touch, the g's are a great alternative.
