I just found this out and call them up to grab it! Who said Roger’s was shit? Never I’ve I heard a Data + Txt Msg plan so cheap, no one on the planet will refuse. Yes, it’s only 500MB, but that’s more then enuff for mild surfing and checking e.mails. Everyone who has the $30/6GB plan never use all 6GBs up and they got to pay extra for the Txt msg and all that shit. 9/10 have switched to this plan!

So I'm in the market for a new phone/ plan and i called Rogers to find out what they could do for me, and because I'm on a corporate plan, they said I'm screwed. I have this kick-ass plan from the 90's for 23$/month, where i get free evenings after 6, free w/e, vm, caller id, call display, 250 daytime, and for 5$ extra i get 2500 texts. The problem now is that people with corporate plans need to prove that they still work for that company, and well i don't. So in order to make any changes to my plan, or add data or anything, i need to verify that i still work with the company or i lose it all. FUCK! Ideally i wanted to keep my plan and add data, but even that is impossible. They said that there's way too many people taking advantage of old corporate plans that are expired, in other words, rogers wants to fuck me over and make more money.
I'm in love with the iphone but don't wanna spend too much on my monthly plan. This 30$/month doesn't include voice? So i'm still looking at $60/month, + system access fee + plus this + plus that...

Any cheaper plans or other ideas?

then you dont get visual voicemail and 500mb is definately not enough to tether with.. good for someone who doesn't really use any data..

pretty nice deal! but I also have a corporate scam plan and can't join in the fun...mind you, I'm super happy with what I have. A data package would be a nice addition.

how do the credits work? is it recurring for the duraton of the contract?

I would be a new data customer and a student, do i get $15 of credit?

I plan not to tether ... but, they are trying to boot ppl off that 6GB asap b/c of the tethering opition coming soon (legit ver)

You have to "remind or inform" the CSR about this plan and the crediting. My GF called this morning and schooled the CSR.

Roger's website never advertise this stuff ... call them up. If you get uneducated CSR, tell them to check their e.mail sent on Nov 26 08 about it & if they still play stupid, request to talk to the manager on duty.

Telus has already been offering this for 30$. VM, CLID, UNLTD TXT and 500 MB of data. but for 15$(45$) more you can get VM,CLID, UNLTD TXT & UNLTD DATA

I'm going to call Roger and see if they can offer me the plan with data for $20.

I'm currently on the $30/6GB plan right now, but i'm not using anywhere near 6GB, and I use my BB to tether.

If I had a 3G Blackberry it might be different but tethering on EDGE sucks pretty bad.

If they can offer me the $30 for $20 I might do it. I'm sure they would be more than happy to get me of the 6GB plan.
