My 9mm just wasn't enough

Well. I've been looking at the Springfield pistols for a few weeks now and finally broke down and bought one. I bought the Springfield XD .45acp. Bought it at academy with a box of .45 ammo for about $457 (the gun itself was $549). Gotta love the employee discount and $70 in gift cards. Pics will come after i get off work. I'm so excited to get out the the range and try it out.

Here are some pics of it:

damn...i need a new camera now. one that doesn't take crappy pictures.

Both of those are probably some of the better civilian issue weapons you can get for under 800 bucks.

I've got the same one. To be honest, I don't really like it. But it doesn't fit me well. The angle of the grip forces the barrel down on me. Being a shotgun shooter, I'm use to the opposite.

I've heard good things about the Springfield.

I still and always will love my G19 & G26.

How long have youn had the G19? Do you still like it? I had a G22 .40 for about 6 months while on duty and hated it after about four months. That safety action mechanism started to stick and made the action feel wierd.

I've had the G26 for about 7 yrs, and the G19 for about a year. I've competed in a shooting competition with the G19 and did well.

i haven't heard too many good things about the sigma series. although the bad stuff i have heard is all related to the pull of the trigger. From what i saw, Glock sued S&W because they used the exact same trigger as the Glocks. after settling the lawsuit, S&W decided they would make the trigger extremely harder to pull. other than that, i've not seen anything else. that might not even be for the sigmas, but i'm pretty sure it was.

looking forward to heading out to George Bush park to squeeze off a few rounds and taking my CHL class later this month or early next month.

well, My father in law owns 2 and says they are a great gun for the money, So much so that my sister in law just bought one for her fiance. So, true, they may not be a glock, but from first hand reviews, I've heard nothing but good stuff. I dunno. The only thing I wasnt real wild about was the fact they have no safety, which for me is fine, but my wife on the other hand .... lol.
