discussion on - TRANCE vs ELECTRO HOUSE

hey you guys.

I live in a pretty isolated place in Australia.

Previously for a number of years I went to some patricular clubs here and the sound was Trance like -abit towards the TIESTO and Darude type of world generally speaking.

Went back after a few years break and my God this ELECTRO HOUSE was goin non-stop at the same clubs. Alot of it had that latin beat as well.

Is this happening all over the world as well and has Trance as the prime force taken a step back for this new ELECTRO HOUSE thing.

Sorry if I SOUND NAIVE here but it will be interesting to see what peoples opinions are and whether Trance greats are also getting a little ELECTRO house NOW IN THIER BEATS AND FEEL.

Electro house is probably quite a bit more popular than trance at the moment in most places. Some form of house music has almost always been more popular than trance anyway.

I wish it were a good type of house rather than "electro," which I find mostly unlistenable...

well where im from the sound is definitely house and techno, trance has clearly taken a back seat... and its down to DJs here not playing trance as well as clubbers disliking the traditionally long break down (~2 mins), a major reason why trance never took off in the first place...

Well, I'll tell you that THE SAME THING is happening stateside. A lot of clubs HAVE JUMPED on the electro bandwagon. I think it all started with BIG TRANCE DJs including it in their sets, or USING SOME ELECTRO ELEMENTS in their productions.

Ohh, and don't forget DEADMAU5,

the interesting thing is.
will the most famous Trance dj's lose thier fame abit because of this shift.

From my layman point of view the Trance DJ'S like TIESTO are the most famous DJ's in the world or should I say - have been.

The "most famous trance DJ's" have shifted a bit towards "electro house" mostly because that's what's popular. If anything, playing this shit has made them even more famous.
