State of The World = Downfall of Trance?

Has anyone considered this notion? It seems that gradually over the past 6-7 years the statement "Trance is dead" has become more popular...Trance doesnt give us that 'feeling' anymore. I think its due to the depressing and escalating sad world we live in. The more wars and poverty, the less Trance fills the void.

The more u think about it the more plausable the theory becomes.

It is true. Unicorns are very sensitive creatures and tend to react strongly to even minute changes in their surroundings. So that when the world descended into warfare, they all flew away. And they took all the PLUR magic with them. And that's how trance came to an end.

It all makes perfect sense.

I don't think it's that retarded of a theory. Different global feelings on society might lead to different amounts of shiny happy unicorn music. Dark, dull and cynical has been the cool side for a couple of years now, and it's not hard to predict euphoric music genres might become more popular, as people get tired of the crisis and start feeling idealistic.

Doesn't relate directly to trance, though. I don't think epic trance is coming back.

Well you could really tie this to more so that Trance is really not conducive to relating to hard times. Its nature is pretty much hedonistic.

Look at the late 90's most of the places where Trance was taking off were undergoing very positive economic periods. People didn't have a care, they went out and partied, etc.

The same could be said of disco in some ways.

Of course this is probably one of many reasons why trance is "dying" and is not really the sole reason.

shouldn't music be better if there is something to gather inspiration from? some of the best music was done during the ghetto days no?

i don't see how this has any affect on trance music. i think it's just a case of laziness
