This was an accident. I really hadn't intended on working on another promo mix this soon, but this past weekend I just had a sudden rush of inspiration to make a set that basically reeked of both jazz and organic instruments/percussion. Myra has been feeding me so much good downtempo/trip hop/chillout stuff the past few months that I really have an ear for those kinds of sounds, and wanted to take that influence and apply it to a set of tech and deep house. So a special thanks goes to Myra for this one as it probably wouldn't have come about without both her influence and her tolerance for how obsessive I become when I begin a musical project.
If you...
- don't like horns
- don't like acoustic guitars
- don't like vocals
- don't like Detroit techno
- have found any of my previous mixes a bore
...this probably isn't for you. If you like all of those things, get the fuck in. This set was not made for people to rave their faces off to - it was made for you to throw on when you're chilling outside having a cocktail, when you're stoned out of your face, or when you've just gotten back from a great party and want something groovy, glitchy, soulful, and druggy to listen to.
Hope you guys enjoy it.
