Moby.

Love him? Hate him? Think he's just OK?

Productions? DJ sets? Live? What has the tiny bald man done that's worth remembering?

For me it was his DJ set at the Electric Daisy Carnival 2008. First time I ever knew that Moby was an electronica musician. His set even featured a fireworks show - granted, the fireworks show was pretty weak but DAMN! the tiny bald man threw down a wicked set:

His DJing is absolutely terrible, but I have and still do love so much of his music, particularly almost everything before "Play" came out.

18 was ok, and then it all started going downhill and he turned into a complete popstar.

His description of his new album sounds promising though.

wow eminem thats realy original.

i like the earlier moby stuff, everything is wrong is pretty sweet except for the punk stuff. also his chillout ambient stuff is good but very suicidal, hes not well in his head. feeling so real is one of my all time favorite tracks tho, especialy the westbam remix.

everything is wrong remixed double mix CD is fucking awesome btw, but really hard to find.

Agree 100% - though Hotel had its moments and the B-Sides (Ambient) were tres nice.

djing: horrid

live concerts: okay if you like concerts and greenpeace and plan to be part of a better world

music/albums: a matter of personal taste... one thing you cant deny is that he can play several instruments sufficiently well

His DJ sets are that terrible eh?

I'm more than willing to bet that most people would say that he had the best set at the festival I saw him at. Nearly everyone I spoke to about that night were blown away about what he dropped that night. Then again, nobody was really expecting anything from the tiny bald man...

So either:

1: Los Angeles has shitty DJ sets all the time, and nobody realizes it

or

2: The tiny bald man actually gave something worth remembering that night.

I've seen plenty of great sets in Los Angeles... Carl Cox, Donald Glaude, Christopher Lawrence, Sasha & Digweed for four hours, Steve Lawler, etc... So I'm not sure what to think about people are saying here. But his downtempo stuff is absolutely ace!

I was looking for this track a couple of years ago and couldn't find it. Moby seems more of an interesting person than an interesting musician.
