[resolved] 1200 Pitch @ 0%

Alright so a while ago I changed the Pitch on my 1200M3D with a new pitch. The problem is that when the pitch nears 0% now, the green light turns on and quartz lock is enabled. The pitch I swapped it with does not "click" at zero and is an authentic part. As you know (I hope) the 1200M3D's come with a separate 0% Quartz lock button and true 0% never initiates with the pitch at/near 0%, unless the button is engaged.

My question is how can I remove that cock sucking 0% quartz lock whenever I'm hovering around 0.

The reason I want this resolved is because there is a noticable'jump' in pitch when it hits quartz lock, I used a time-coded vinyl to listen to the variating pitch. Any help would be appreciated

P.S. Does djtutors tutorial on this seem... safe? I really don't want to be snipping a resistor on the main board.

There is a ball barring that enables the lock which you would need to add. But, it would be easier to just exchange it for the 1200 MK3 version. I own 1200 MK II and, the clicking is standard.

I would say you can trust the djtutor. Not because I know anything about this, but I trust him for him. He generally knows what he's talking about.

However, the procedure is obv not risk-free. I would probably get a friend who knows electronics to do this for me.

There is no click on the MK3D's..

The whole point was to have a button so that when you got close to the 0% pitch marker you wouldn't have to deal with that annoying little click..

If there's a click you might have picked up the wrong pitch fader.

But from reading your original post it just sounds like the light (eg. 0%) is being activated while you pass over the 0% mark and it then jumps to 0% even though it's not quite there, causing a slight speed up/slow down.

Not sure how to fix it though. Might be something to do with the wiring?

Yes you did, you're welcome.

Go pay money to get it fixed if you can't install it properly.
