i dont understand how you think this is better than the other 3 examples in this thread. i just dont. your example is a chorus of electric guitars and a drumkit, which is sonically boring. the other examples have at least 4 different unique instrument sounds going on at once. it creates a wider spectrum of sound. its like comparing a black and white pencil drawing to a colorful oil painting.

This line of thought puzzles me. For me it's the notes and rhythms that are most important, not the number of different instruments playing at once.

You're not a fan of solo piano music, I'm guessing?

you're talking about normal music, im talking about loopy repetitive music and how not to make repetitive music too ... repetetive.

and i never said the number of different instruments playing at once is most important. you can make a good loop based track with just one instrument, keeping the listener interested with a wide octave range and have multiple phrases that differentiate from each other. but, its a lot easier if you use sounds that have different characters to them, like characters in a story or play. petrans example has like, 3 phrases, that change slightly, using 2 "characters". this is all my opinion, which is why i said im not able to understand how petran can claim his example is better music than the other examples, i try but just cant understand. im baffled almost on a daily basis when i see people enjoying crappy music.
