Echo Indigo DJ problem

Hey guys. I bought an Echo Indigo DJ along with an expresscard adapter for my Dell Inspiron laptop. I installed the drivers that came with the CD, and it worked, but not with Traktor. Traktor wouldn't play anything from it, no matter what settings I used in the Audio Output and the .

I figured it was the driver, so I installed the vista driver on their website and it completely stopped working. I couldn't even get sound from windows to go through. Windows now sees it split into 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 "Virtual out" devices, and no matter which jack I plug my speakers and headphones into, sound will not go through these devices. I've tried changing which Virtual out device windows is using and where everything is plugged in. Still, nothing plays or goes out of the soundcard.

Has anyone experienced problems like this?

I'm using the original Indigo DJ with Windows XP, but anyway here's a suggestion:

Check the Indigo mixer console to be sure the wrong virtual channel is not muted. If in doubt, temporarily unmute ALL the channels (normally some will need to be muted, depending on how you configure your music software, media player, web browser etc). Their mixer software can be a little confusing, same with the assignment of the correct channels in your music software. Typical for new users to take a day or 2 to figure it out and tear out a few clumps of scalp hair.

Another thing is to go into Device Manager or whatever they call it in Vista and make sure the standard built-in laptop soundcard is disabled and the Indigo is there. If both are enabled, it might be a problem.
