Here is a fascinating and well written article on a mind boggling show thats just begun on fox news, Glenn Becks "War Games", where CIA and ex-military guests ponder, plot, and plan against an impending Obama led tyranical government (hypothetically speaking that is!) i can't see the youtube snippets of the show from the link below but right now i'm wondering is this for fucking real?
what is the real reason behind a show such as this one? a ratings grabber or something much graver?

man. What's Beck doing??? He needs to take a xanny bar. Even I don't like this type of fire-stoking. The only part of any of those 3 videos that seems plausable is the scenario sketched out in segment two about Iran targeting Saudi oil installations in the event of regional war.
Otherwise, he's dangerously close to tin foil hat time.

Funny how during the Bush Administration, mainly after 2003, I was starting to see the strong possibility of a civil war against what I saw was an increasingly worrisome trend for this country to become some sort of fascist theocracy.
The prevailing attitude by the administration and it's die hard followers of needing to purge the country of godless atheists and a general intolerance of everyone or anything that was "different" from the lifestyle of your average Bible-thumping Walmart shopper seemed very much a corrosive influence against the very tenets of this nation.
Now that we no longer have a government that espouses divisive slogans such as "with us or against us" or calls dissenters "terrorists sympathizers", I find it quite ironic that we see the MSM bring about fears of civil war.
Well fuck you FOX and fuck your viewers. Bring on your fucking Civil War. Let's divide this country, you can have your 3rd world Jesusland and stay the fuck out of my country where technology, progress and diversity in beliefs and opinion will continue.

Wow did anyone else notice the little 3 videos playing while Beck was talking on PART1? (At the beginning)
What a subliminal way of sending fear. Fear-mongering at its finest. Part 2 was not even on-topic anymore just saying muslims, and extremists over and over again calling the middle east nothing but extremists.
Fear can become a self-reinforcing mechanism. It can prompt people who would otherwise just sit tight to act irrationally. There is a reason why these media-fear attacks are upon us.
McCain used it again Obama with stupid questions like "Who is the real Obama?" (hinting he was Muslim/Kenyan) pathetic.

to call beck a tin foil hat is insulting to the tin foil hat wearing public.
Beck and the rest of these types like him are a serious danger to the stability of this country. They use hate and fear to spread more lies and half truths..... its quite sickening to say the least.

Greenwald's always a good read. One of my bookmarks that I hit everyday. I also appreciate the fact that he's very critical of the Obama Admin's power grabs (state secrets, torture, etc.) in a similar tone as he was of Bush. Just today he's going after Rahm (and rightfully so, I might add):

Hah!
Yeah, Beck is something truly different indeed. Cant label him a conspiracy theorist because he is much more dangerous than that.

I don't find the first part all that improbable.
The only exception is the 8,000 $/oz gold price.
I'm not a fan of spreading fear, especially by puting such a complex scenario on FOX who's viewers... well... yeah. But when you get down to it this first scenario just has a lot of homeless, crimes on the increase, and kidnapings (ok, that's far off base).
