Beatport Question

How long do the new releases stay @ $2.49? Is it a week after release? Two weeks?

Fuck, there's so many tracks on my crate from today's browsing but pretty much every track is a new release and too damn expensive

Some are exclusive and some are new releases

For me, new releases if they're available on other sites as well, are $1.99. $2.49 I only see for exclusive releases. They stay @ $2.49 until the track is released elsewhere. Dependent on how well it sells from there, it either drops to $1.99 or $1.49.

ive had instances where i'd place an exclusive track in my crate, completely forget about beatport for a few weeks and that track will disappear...i'll search for it again and there is almost no history of that track being there

too damn expensive

I really cant argue with how much we pay these days, when i think back to the days when i would spend £80-£100 and walk away with less than 10 tracks on vinyl,
Or when i would spend nearly £20 on a double album just for that one track i was so desperate for..

But answering your question, yes i think it does go down after it loses its `exclusive` tag, that being when its not exclusive to beatport anymore..
In cases when its just a new release, some artists only allow sites like beatport, junodownload, 3beat(download) etc to only sell a certain amount of downloads,
after this the track will disapear and more than likely only be available on vinyl from then on,
this being why it did not have an exclusive tag (because it may have been available on other sites, only vinyl though) but still had the higher price..

Hope this has been of some help.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll bite the bullet and get them now I guess...I wouldn't want them to suddenly become unavailable
