I have talked to quite a few people that aren't going this year because of the economy, I should probably be one of them, haha..... but I think you are partially correct in assuming people will still spend money for a vacation that they really want to go on. Some just have to sacrifice other getaways and stuff. No matter what the economy, though, there will always be a lot of people in Miami for WMC, which means that charging a high price is a way for the clubs to make up for an otherwise down year. It really makes no difference to them. Even if there are a lot less people down there, the major clubs will still pack enough people in to make capacity. Take for example last year's Armada night at Parkwest. I was lucky enough to walk right in just before the lineup started around midnight. From what I hear, a ton of people were unable to get in. So last year let's say 200 people (arbitrary, i know) couldn't get in.... if this year that number is only 50-100, the club still is at capacity and still makes their money plus some because of the higher prices.
