Incorporating a Laptop in Your Setup
I just got a brand new laptop and a new terratec phase 26 usb, ive kept as clean as possible for producing but i also want to link it into my dj gear.
what i wanted to do with it was link the line out of my mixer into the line in of my soundcard and find a program that will let me monitor the line in source and allow me to apply effects to it. then the line out of my soundcard into my amp.
So basically i want to use it as an fx unit. does any one know of a program that i can do this with, or anutha way of linkn it up.
cheers,
Peace

Can't
I've tried.
You'd need to come in line in, which would automatically play the main source out through the line out. You'd be putting efx on top of the main stream, with another stream going. It would be distorted and sound like crap. I may be wrong though.

I've tried too, with no luck. Ended up getting a Kaoss.
1. Not any software made For that
2. Tried with ableton, and other "demos" but didn't work well: delays/lags/processing....,
complicated without a decent controller (not a mouse or keyboard)
and other I don't rememeber
And didn't even have A&B's^^ problem cos I got an external card with which I dealed with that. But still
...still use it to record and play some tunes

i'd recommend against using a computer for this. the delay will be excessive.
