Online dating
What's everyones view about online dating?
I've heard some real success and horror stories about online dating. I actually have a couple of friends that have met their partners (wives/husbands) online, which is very cool!
So being a single male (for too long now) I've now checked out these sites called lavalife and plentyoffish. For the most part, it seems kinda funny, and at the same time serious. But I was really surprised about how many people actually join onto these sites. I've always been very skeptical about the whole notion of meeting someone online... but as time has tested it true, it's becoming a very popular and socially acceptable thing to do.
I think it's quite cool that you can read what a person's really about, but can you really take someone's profile at face value? I mean, it's easy for anyone to go on there and say, well, I'm this and that, trying to make themselves sound attractive and amazing. I guess I think that online dating can be more pretentious than actually meeting people in person.
Has anyone been on these sites and had a read around? Or how about some juicy stories you (by that I mean "a friend of yours" ) have encountered.
