because the cost of opening the unit, finding the problem parts, installing, testing, exceeds the cost of paying a factory in malaysia to put together a new unit from scratch?

Epson are the same. They quoted me a fee of £25 to just receive and then £30 an hour to look at my old printer, saying it would take 3 hours. cost = £105. I bought a new one (HP this time) for £65
|
