It's got some nice elements melodywise
but the production unfortunately is shit

If I need to explain in 1 sentence: It sounds like it comes out of an arranger keyboard used for family sing alongs and wedding parties.

You really need to redo you percussion and sound design
the melody itself can use a layer to thinken up a bit
i don't understand the break? it's just the solo'ed lead?

Really some nice ideas here, but the soundchoices and arrangement ruin it.

+1 on that.

And somehow , I really dislike the rimshot thing that starts at 0:18.

Reminds me of some kind of tribal soccer match..

2nd thing is the lead sound , sounds too 'init-ish'

The rest is fine.

I agree with the others. You got some very nice melody progressions going on. I love how the harmonies evolve. The groove is a bit simple but nice.

I also agree about the bad mixing though. You need a bit more clarity, try to find some sounds that dominate the 3-8 khz area.

Sure, you're biggest challenge is not the "what", but the "how"

to give you a startingpoint what you should look at trackwise

kick
Open HH
Closed HH
Rides
Bassline low
Basline mid
Bassline high
strings

This should be the foundation of your arrangement and should have drive and dynamics. compare this to other tracks and decide for yourself when it holds up. then start working on the leads and earcandy and lay-out the flow of the track. and a soloéd lead is not a break, you will need to breakdown and build up with some ambiance and athmosphere.
