What do you guys use to clean the platter on your CDJ's? I just want to get rid of the fingerprints and what not.

A duster.

Rubbing alcohol on a good paper towl. Gets all the oils your fingers leave plus any drops of liquor that may be on them.

Seriously, though. I've always sprayed a small, small amount of all-purpose cleaner on a good paper towel and then rubbed it gently. Works great, have had no problems.

Just buff it out with a paper-towel, no liquid cleaners or anything needed, it works for me.

And on this subject. I have a pair of CDJ 200's, and the platter is made of metal (at least i think it's metal). They look very worn out and dull. I was wondering if there's a way to make them shine? Or will doing anything to them at all damage them?

Well, when I use a duster, fingerprints and smudges come right off.

Maybe the definition of a duster in the UK and US differs, but I can assure you that in the UK, a soft duster, with nothing but some uniform approach to cleaning and you'll have a shiny 'just out of the box' platter in no time.

EDIT: this is what we refer to as a duster in the UK

computer monitor wipes, windex on a paper towel, and qtips to clean the blood out of the slot loader.

rubbing alcohol is always a good go-to when it comes to electronics, the higher the alcohol percentage the better, i always have a bottle kicking around
