Not really a review of Control (05/06): The Field, The Juan Maclean

One of my friends dragged me out on a Friday night to Control@Avalon. Wasn't sure what to expect.

I thought The Field were great. They played for about an hour; completely awesome techno that made me dance the entire time.

The Juan Maclean didn't do it for me; they were a bit too experimental for me, and I didn't like the front girl's voice. MacLean had this neat Theremin-iike instrument that was cool to watch, but in the end, they fell flat for us, and we left early.

Destructo/Mr. White made the hipsters dance which is fine by me.

The Field is just Axel, one person but guess he had a full band for his live set? I wanted to see him this past Saturday in SF but I was a bit tired from an underground then a st fair and decided to just call it a night after happy hour. Sucks for me cause I have no idea when he'll come back...

You're right. After doing some research, The Field is just Axel.

However, there was him, and 3-4 others (1 guitar, 1 keyboard, 1 drum, maybe someone else?)
