i have been told that brooklyn, esp. williamsburg, is a good place for young ppl. and has good nite life too.

i want some place thats close to the transportation systems (subway), grocery stores and restaurants (so i dont have to lug stuff around for a long distance) and a place close to a good gym. and of course with good nite life =)

i'm moving from LA.

the question is how much money do you have to spend on rent? from there you can make the decision. you really need to visit places

theres plenty of places with all of that. yes Williamsburg is all of that. As long as you have the funds to pay for rent, it wont be a problem living there. ive heard rent is comparable to that of Manhattan.

look into places in queens and parts of brooklyn perhaps even the heights and parts of harlem

Keep in consideration Williamsburg costs as much as an apt in Manhattan, you're prob better off getting something in South Slope, Bed-Stuy or Bushwick, considering your budget. Nightlife I don't think should be a big issue, since most of these places are a 15-20 min trip to Manhattan anyway (unless you'd like to do your partying in Midtown, which would be a 30 min trip), and they are still about a 5 min cab ride to Billyburg.

If you arent familiar with NYC, I highly recommend bklyn, specifically Rutland Road and Winthrop Street between E95 and E96 streets.. I was there the other day and it is magnificent,thriving,diverse and affordable with great neighbors, its quite a killer deal..hahaha

I'd say live in Harlem. I was paying $700 for my half of a 2 bedroom there.

u were in hamilton heights my dear I liked it a lot there. plenty of space and transit for cheaper. maybe a 15-20 minute commute to midtown on the A/D line, 20-25 on the 1 line (the 1 train is the slowest mother effin train on earth bc its soo tiny and people dont understand the concept of letting people OFF before getting ON!!)
