Marcie - Vocalist

I am curious what you people out there think of Marcie and her vocals/lyrics. This vocalist seems to have sung on more trance tunes than any trance vocalist in history. In my opinion, she doesn't seem to care which producers she works with and what songs she sings on. She just seems to want to put her voice and noises on as many songs as possible, perhaps in hopes of a big release. It is a shame that the trance scene cannot find better vocalists and lyricists than her, and it is also a shame that a vocalist like this is able to flood the trance world with such poor quality tunes. I have been frustrated with the scene recently, as much of what I hear sounds quite a bit alike, and this vocalist appearing on so many releases is hurting the scene even more in my opinion. Again, this is just my personal opinion, but I am curious if I am all alone in my assessment.

Isn't this the same girl that did the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" cover? I think she posts every release she is on in the cd review forum. Bitch can't hit a note nor can she find anyone out there that can make her sound like she can.

It's pretty entertaining tbh.

I looked, and yeah, she covered "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6p9eN-GRmI

Her credits start in 2006, about the same time as Jes (great vocalist and songwriter imo), yet she has over triple the amount of releases as Jes.

Jes was doing Motorcycle productions well before 2006. Are you talking about her solo album under the Jes moniker? If so then that may be another story.

For the record, Jes sucks vocally as well though she's years better than Marcie. Jes at least sounds decent in a studio, just abysmal live.

Either way, Marcie's getting paid to do presumably what she loves and she's nice to most people on the forums. Talentless, but harmless nonetheless.

I haven't seen Jes live, but some of her songs are solid I think. I like the way her voice sounds on Imagination (which was originally a Motorcycle song), Ghost, and of course As The Rush Comes by Motorcycle.

Here is Marcie's latest (even the remixer doesn't seem to be able to make the vocal sound nice):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so9sSNaCqlg

Read the description on YouTube:

"One person you never want to get away from is the rather alluring Marcie, (who many know as the voice of Behind The Lyric)," ("never want to get away from?" lol)

Has anyone seen Marcie live? Even modern technology cannot seem to make her voice sound decent on the single releases. If she were to merely release a few of these tunes a year like 99% of the other trance vocalists out there, it wouldn't be so annoying, but she releases loads (over 16 singles with remixes last year, and at her current pace, she will out do herself this year). She has asked some producers I have chatted with to sing on their tracks, and I suppose becomes she is female and comes across as nice, they say yes to her request. She asked one producer I know to sing on his tune, but after she sent her vocals, he asked her to do spoken word because he didn't think he could make her vocals sound good.

I think these types of releases are helping to devalue the meaning of getting signed to a label and having releases. Are 2-4 quality releases worth much more to the vocalist and music lovers out there, or do you think it is smarter to release as many tracks possible, and pray that one of the tracks becomes big?

I think I'd rather chew gravel than listen to her "singing".

I'm beginning to think you're paying too much attention to labels that release shit music regardless.

Doesn't Marcie get signed to Armada, Anjuna, Black Hole (seriously fitting name), and Megasparkles?
