and I was wondering what you would think if you could pay a supscription service to get AG back. This idea has been put forward before with napster and obviously AG has thought of the idea. Personally I would pay any amount of money to get AG back. That way not only can we get it back, we won't have to wrorry about the fucking RIAA stutting it down and our favorite trance artists won't get ripped off. I was suprised to see that only 15% were in favour of a subscription service, so it's unlikely to happen. But I believe it will happen one day, it has to becuase the RIAA will never win the war on mp3's as soon as they shut one file sharing program down 10 new ones pop up!

I would have gladly paid a subscription fee to keep AG up but only if it had the same song availability...AG (and this web site) were the reasons I was able to get into Trance to begin with, supporting it would have been a no-brainer.
Sadly though, I don't think a subscription would have been anywhere near enough to keep the music we love available with the agreement that AG inked with RIAA where they would have to get permission from each label...it's not a big deal to make a deal with large labels like Sony to keep a huge number of crap pop artists up but the Trance/House/Progressive culture is made up of so many little labels that getting deals with all or even a majority of them would have probably been more work that AG would have been willing to go to.
Really though, it's not as though all of us didn't see this coming. I knew AG was doomed from the first when they decided to go with the web interface for their sat, still, it's a shame to see it go.

really NOT trying to be "wiser than thou", but...
funny that everyone says they'd pay when it's out of the game. i bet 9 out of 10 ppl would go apeshit, call them greedy money grabbers and stuff, if AG forced us to pay before RIAA sued them.

Why pay? Just wait for the next big p2p service or just find websites that post stuff!
