Question about my KRK Rokit 10 inch subwoofer

There's an adjustment on the back of the sub called "Low Pass Filter". It ranges from 50HZ to 130HZ.

When I turn it up to 130HZ the bass becomes more powerful than at 50HZ.

Can someone explain what is happening with this adjustment? When its set at 130 does this mean that all frequencies 130 and BELOW are coming out of the sub, or does it mean 130 and HIGHER?

130 and below. When you set it at 130, you're letting more frequencies through (34 Hz - 130 Hz rather than 34 Hz - 50 Hz), so it gets louder.

it's a low pass, this means everything below the chosen frequency is played by the subwoofer

HOWEVER: you also have high pass filter on your monitors and ideally you would like both to be around the same value in order to get a linear response

if your monitors have no low cut/high pass then set the sub to the value where these monitors drop off.

Thanks guys. I'm using Rokit 5's for mids so I'll look up the range on them. Much appreciated!
