DJs...Jay Haze Needs Your Help!

According to Jay, "1200 people die every day of simple things, preventable things," and he's looking to get other DJs involved in his quest to ease the turmoil for many of the DR of Congo's residents. What he's suggesting, is for any DJ (big or small) to choose one gig this year, and donate half of the money they get from playing it to the victims of the DR of Congo. Already on board are DJ Sneak, Tiefschwarz, Loco Dice and Tiga, but Haze is looking for as many participants as possible, and is appealing for interested parties to contact him by e-mail at djs4drcATjayhaze.com. |

We will be working with an African based charity for this specific cause, as it is surely better to work with people who really know the situation and support and work with locals. It is sometimes the problem with different organizations that they bring their own workers, who sometimes need compensation for their time, but on a European budget, you see? This is about helping people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, not only the people who need the help, but the organizations who need our help so that they themselves can efficiently help. We are not asking everyone to be totally aware of the situation on the ground there as it is a very complex one indeed, but what we ask is that you be passionate about helping people who need it.

Also, i would like the djs to forget about the money they will give (which BTW you can write off on your taxes) but think of it more as TIME. You will be playing half your set to help people.... We will also be organizing events around the globe in support of the same cause.
Dj Sneak will organize one in Toronto, and on October 8th, we will be making a benefit party in London @ TBAR with some very special guests.(100 percent of the profits will go to the cause!) I will try to update everyone with newsletters assuming they make their way to your eyes... We should have our website up shortly.

I think this is a very good effort on his part...really wish I could help. But maybe I can help spreading the word around by posting this here.
