get numark's idj2...it is the future of djing.
Even people on the level of Armin, Tiesto, etc have recently dumped traditional methods of djing realizing that the idj2 is a step above the rest in terms of sound quality and build.

LOL, EDM is pretty broad. Trance, House, Techno, are all very different and are mixed differently 
I don't know much about Serato, as I've never used it. I have been using Traktor for a few years now and I love it. It's pretty sleek, and I love the interface. I will (hopefully) be upgrading to Traktor Scratch w/ Tech 12's this Christmas.
