Daft Punk

I love Daft Punk. Without hearing "One More Time" I would never have gotten into electronic music. The only reason I looked them up is because they had punk in their name and that's what I liked at the time. Without Daft Punk I wouldn't have gotten into house, then acid, then goa, then trance which is where I am today.

I have a question though. On albums like Homework how do they make sounds? I've never been able to understand how they get these outrageous sounds, I know that sounds very noobish but I'm serious.

Can anyone explain this to me?

Well, daft punk have a few things in their arsenal of tricks but one of the biggest is they create their sounds then sample them to play and record the sequence live.

They use a shitload of analogue synths (both vintage and new) and Thomas is a fucking demi-god when it comes to playing keys (I'm am not joking). Even watching him fucking about by playing some keys on a synth over a track was a humbling experience.
