Exclamation Alex-F - Steppenwolf 1 [Dubstep/Krautstep/Hypertechno]

i noticed that there was hardly any "breakage" in my latest berghain set. this set is going to make up for that. oh and please ignore the bar9 tune, it is completely out of place

tracklist:

02 Ø - Kenntä
03 Scuba - Klinik
04 Monolake - Atlas
05 Scuba - Volt
06 Bar9 - Untitled Symphony

08 Monolake -Titan
09 Sigha - Rememberance
10 Andy Stott - Drippin
11 Burial - Distant Lights
12 Sven Weisemann - Limaro #2

Definitely in on this.

Man, I can't wait for dubstep to get older and mature more. I always like plunging deep into record bins for old house and techno and you can't do that yet with dubstep.

Random thought. Anyways, yeh, on it.

you mean the lack of classics so far? i noticed that too but on the other hand this is a genre where you can hardly do anything wrong (except for playing bar9 between totally subtle tunes), it feels like punk-techno in some way. and thats fun because you can always discover something new...

Eh, you can play stuff wrong. It seems that people love to cane the wobble which I'm not a fan of at all (save for maybe 20-30 minutes of it).

But I fail to see how you'd benefit from that seeing that you are already keeping track of what's going on in this genre.

Anyway I'm in on this one as well.

Edit: scanned through the set...wow this is some really mellow shit!

Its just that the style is so new that its hard to really dig deep into it, and everyone is playing a lot of the same tracks. Still love the sound, just wouldn't hurt to hear more of it and have a better selection.

Checking this mix out as well.

Taking a listen right now, I was really excited about this when I turned it on!

It took a bit to build up, but the action starts around 6 minutes in. Good opener. 13 minutes in, and this is some nice, dark, trippy dubstep. I absolutely love it. OHHH MYYY GODDDDD 20 MINUTES HOLY FUCKKKKKKKK, THIS SHIT IS SIIIICKKKKKK!!!!!! I would have probably lost my shit in the club at this point, I would be punching babies, raping old people, and developing nuclear technology. This track isn't your normal wobble "wahwahwahwahwahwah" stuff. This is more like the sound that Jesus made when he beat up a Brontosaurus. After that track, you sorta slid down into the mellow range. It stopped being baby-throwing music and started being underground coffee-lounge music, which isn't a bad thing, but the track at 20 minutes sorta made me think there would be more like that. I kinda wish the back half was as dark and active/energetic as the first half, but what can you do

Nice job on this, I enjoyed it quite a bit, I just wish the back half had more energy. I need to know the name of that one track tho!

lol ziptnf, the track you mean is

Bar9 - Untitled Symphony

it is a bit misplaced, i find that too. but i think it has too much energy for this set the rest actually sounds like it should
