maybe turn down the stereo separation just a bit, or change the phase position from post to pre? (this is using FL studio's stereo enhancer, i dunno about other plugins)
i've also found that if you fuck with chorus efx you can get that nice, head-wrapping stereo separation without necessarily using a stereo enhancer.
i also tend to shy away from too much reverb with pads, most of the time if i add too much it doesn't really add to the "separated" sound you're looking for, it ends up just muddying the mix to where i lose headroom. so i guess what i'm trying to say is, maybe your stereo separation settings are just right, but you have too much reverb which makes the sample less clear
