A Baffling Physics Question That Should Make You Think

The law of conservation of mass and energy states that matter cannot be created or destroyed in a system, only transferred. So, how did matter and energy get here in the first place? Is it infinite? Well, if it's infinite, and the universe had a beginning at the Big Bang, then WTF?

Isn't the big bang theory supposed to be a cyclical thing? At some point, billions of years ago, all the energy and matter in the universe was sucked into something like a super-massive black hole, and then exploded, sending all the energy/matter outwards again.

it wouldn't surprise me if it's just a cycle.. we start with the big bang- expand, expand, galaxies are created, expand, expand- then the big crunch.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Crunch

what i always wonder is what is OUTSIDE our universe? dark matter? nothing?

It could by cyclic if the universe ever wants to collapse on itself again, which theoretically could never happen if the initial bang and outward expansion is too great. I don't know how that calculation is made, but I know now that the universe is not yielding in expansion, but still accelerating in growth. So either we haven't yet reached the point where the the gravitational pull of all the mass in the universe can cause it to "crunch" on itself, or the universe will just grow forever and ever.

In my opinion, I think some over ambitious fucks (probably pro obama)in the previous universe were fooling around with hydrogen and helium, and collapsed the universe into a big black hole where it then collapsed on itself into a singularity to the point of density where a big bang occurred. The proof of the previous universe was destroyed, and so are our clues to the existence of the first iteration of the universe.
And all the energy was condensed very tightly into the size of a nickel before exploding. So no, the energy was not lost or created. I think. I don't know. I'm a stuffed animal collector, not a terrorist.

and that's why I am against the LHC project. I'm glad they built a nice looking structure, but humans are fools and fools with power kill many. They overheated their magnets during the warm up, just as I predicted. And they will kill everyone, just as I predict.
