This was a great night had by all the people i met with, but the organisation was a joke.
We got there after paying 45 quid for a taxi, after being told you wouldnt have much luck getting one of the every 15minute shuttle buses.
Then when we got there we had to get dropped off 2 1/2 miles away, and walk up and down hills, and over 2 fields to get to the actualy event.
Once we got there we walked round the back, and i was allowed to walk through the girls entrance and wasnt even searched
Then once we were in food and everything else seemed to be massivley over expensive. Im used to paying a lot for stuff, but this was just a complete rip off, and 5 quid for a wrong timetable is unexceptable.
Then after climming over a mountain of bottles and crap in the main arena to get to the front we were pushed and shoved all over the place, there didnt seem to be anyone keeping an eye out for crowd trouble, so thank god there wasnt a full scale riot, from drunk idiots.
Then we had to get tokens to buy drinks, not sure why that was in place.
After all the hype the main arena was way to quiet. I was expecting my ears to bleed, but i could talk at a normal level to my mate next to me, it needed to be so much louder, everyone was complaining.
Then after it all we thought we could get a shuttle back to milton keynes.
This supposed shuttle bus transport system did not exist, and we were told to get a taxi, and walked the length of the event twice.
We then decided that a taxi would rip us off, and charge us around 55 quid to get to milton keynes. So we walked around 3 miles to the pub in the nearest village to wait for my dad to pick us up. Thank god he could, otherwise it would be a walked another 2 1/2miles to the nearest town, and wait for a bus to milton keynes.
On the way home i saw a number of cybers walkin in many directions, some around 6 miles from the event, and probably with another 3 or 4 miles to go, as they had gone in the wrong direction.
The whole event was signed posted terribly, it all seemed rushed, and a cost cutting event to maximise profits.
iwas so let down by my first festival, and expected gatecrasher to ge tit spot on.
it made me laugh that they had a global gathering plain flying over head, i bet that will be organised properly.
So thank god the DJS put on a great show for us, and this made up for everythign else. But with a £50 price tag you would expect a little bit more, well a lot more
Hopefully they will take notice of the huge amoutn of complaints, and sort it out next year, or put up an official apology.
I dont like to moan, but this was just a total mess
Anyway hopefully gc white will be good this weekend
